For the past forty years, Geoff Wood developed and produced many successful commercial and residential real estate projects in the San Francisco Bay Area. During this period, he won local and national design awards, and awards for historical preservation (LEED today), for both new and renovated projects.
Geoff has used his background and understanding of marketing strategy to focus on how a message is received and understood by the reader. He has noticed that potential online customers click to find information and answers. No information – No Clicks. No Clicks – Potential Customer Lost. Success often follows once the visitor feels that his needs will be served by this service provider or company. Hopfully, this same thing occurs when a reader out there starts connecting with the author‘s attitude and story – site personality may be important.
Current
I became interested in writing after a career in the building industry. At first, I was planning to write about economic failures in the U.S. economy and the importance of looking at economics as a behavioral science rather than a mathematical science.
Then one day while on a hike with my wife near Lake Tahoe, we met a mother bear and her young cub. They stopped not more than thirty or forty feet away and just stood there looking at us. We did the same thing. It was surreal and frightening at the same time. Although I had hiked for many years around Lake Tahoe, I had never been this close to black bears. This encounter inspired a book about a young boy and his friendship with a bear cub.
Later, based on my 30 or 40 year’s experience as a small company owner, I realized that young job seekers were often going about the job of seeking employment the wrong way. They used little follow-up and few actually knew anything about the company that they were hoping to work for. They gave up at the first setback. Knowing that the job market has changed dramatically since I was an employer and even more so in the last several years, I was inspired to write the book “Your New Job and How to Get It.” I currently live with my wife in Napa, California.
